Tip: Koi do not have stomachs so they should not be fed a large amount of food at one time. We do not feed our Koi below 50°F (pond water temperature) and we start feeding 2-4 times a week between 51°F-60°F, 1-2 times daily between 61°F-70°F, 2-4 times between 71°F-89°F and stop feeding again above 90°F. We do make some noise before feeding such as clapping to make our Koi accustomed to the sound. Try this yourself and your Koi will become friendly over time.
